Reed Hastings of Netflix Inc, the American provider of on-demand media available by streaming over the internet decided to let us all have a wonderful new year.
January 6th, during a CES keynote, it was announced that Netflix Is Now Available Around the World. Well there’s a lot that was shared and TK won’t go to the nitty gritty but let’s focus on the relevance of this news to Kenya and the neighbourhood of East Africa.
The online membership of 70 million will obviously increase and who wouldn’t want to have access to TV shows, movies, original series, documentaries, feature films at the touch of a key. Logging in https://www.netflix.com/ke/ you can start your free month and afterward set yourself back Ksh. 817.12 lets say Ksh. 820 every month. Therefore this subscription and unlimited internet you wouldn’t need set-top boxes, would you?
So the global village paradigm is ever taking shape. Lets wait for Spotify and others services that have locked countries like Kenya follow in Netflix’s steps. With this first post on tech.tK in 2016, have a amazing year ahead 🙂
